Plantar Fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. Plantar refers to the bottom of the foot and fasciitis refers to a band of connective tissue on the bottom of the foot called the fascia. The condition is also known as plantar fasciitis or jogger’s heel. I personally feel to call this condition Planer Fasciosis (small degenerative tears in the tissue), as inflammation (it’s) has a very minor role in this condition.

The pain is usually worse with the first few steps after awakening, although it can also be triggered by long periods of standing or getting up from a seated position. Climbing stairs and after intense activity can aggravate the condition.

Treatment for Heel Pain

Plantar fasciitis (PF) is usually solved with conservative treatment, but some cases are challenging to manage.

Conventional

Lifestyle modifications: Maintenance of a healthy weight, choosing supportive shoes, etc.

NSAID medication (Pain killers) to relieve pain.

Physiotherapy is fruitful to relieve symptoms

    • Apply Ice
    • Stretches -Plantar Fascia, TA.
    • Strengthening exercises
  • Ultrasound to local region
  • Taping
  • Night Splint
  • Orthotics custom-fitted arch supports
  • ECSW (Extracorporeal shock wave therapy) in non-responsive cases.

If more conservative measures aren’t working after several months, your doctor might recommend:

Steroid Injection Locally: Injecting steroid medication into the tender area can provide temporary pain relief. Multiple shots aren’t recommended because they can weaken your plantar fascia and possibly cause it to rupture.

Surgical Release: last option but efficacy is debated.

The Prolotherapy Clinic’s Treatment Approach to Plantar Fascitis

While treatments such as those mentioned above can provide some relief, the best way to actually heal the injury and provide long-lasting improvement is through Regenerative Orthobiologic Treatments such as –

Prolotherapy/PRP Prolotherapy and SN MERIT – (along with best of conventional care)

Prolo stands for Proliferate. Prolotherapy mimics the natural healing process by tricking the body into initiating a new healing cascade. A precise injection of unique solutions directly at the damage site triggers the release of growth factors and new collagen deposition. Additional treatments repeat this process, allowing a gradual build-up of tissue to restore the original strength to the area. The weakened area heals, and the patient’s pain is reduced or eliminated, increased range of motion, and improved function.

SN-MERIT ™ adds extra turbo effects through the rejuvenation of nerves.

The key to the success of treatment is through the Bio-tensegrity approach. We just don’t address the Plantar Fascia, we thoroughly evaluate and treat other structures contributing to the problem.

Our Expert Physiotherapist has made Rehabilitation protocols that help in boosting the success of treatment.

The only Prolotherapy Clinic provides the most Comprehensive Innovative Regenerative treatment options combined with the best of traditional Orthopedic care to produce outstanding results.
